The Department of Information Security Technologies was established within the Faculty of Science by the decision of the Council of Higher Education Executive Board dated April 7, 2024.

Admission and Registration Requirements
Applicants are required to hold a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification and to have obtained a sufficient score in the university entrance examination administered by ÖSYM. International students must have achieved a sufficient score in the YÖS examination. Students who complete their final registration are required to enroll in courses within the periods specified in the academic calendar.
Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue employment in a wide range of fields where electronic information is utilized, particularly in information technology centers and software companies. Possible positions include information security specialist, system security specialist, cybersecurity specialist, network specialist and administrator, system support specialist, and software developer.
As Türkiye ranks among the countries most frequently targeted by cyber attacks on a global scale, there is a growing need for thousands of new professionals with strong theoretical knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity. Considering the expected significant increase in cyber threat activities in the coming years, the demand for graduates specialized in this field is anticipated to continue rising.
